At Elementary and Middle School, Sports of All Sorts - Session #2 is now open.

Session #2 for Sports of All Sorts will run the week of November 4th through the week of December 16th.

 

  • E1 will continue to play on Wednesdays
  • E2 will play on Tuesdays
  • Middle School will continue on Thursdays

 

Please register one child at a time, and please register your child into the correct group - Primary (ages 3 - Kindergarten), E1 (grades 1-3), E2 (grades 4-6), and Middle School (grades 7-8).

 

Our Enrichment programs are open to current Villa students ONLY.

PRIMARY Enrichment Class Descriptions - Click on the class title to register!
Enrichments offering more than one day will teach the same subject/craft/activity for both days.  
Please choose only ONE of the days offered.
 
OR
Grade: P3 - Kindergarten
Description: Children will explore different cultures and animals across the globe while engaging in crafts to take home and share their knowledge with others. Primary Lead Guide (Teacher) Bailey DeAnda will teach this class.  
 
OR
Grades: P3 - Kindergarten 
Description: Spanish will be a fun class in which children will learn basic Spanish words, songs, coloring, and working on worksheets while having fun while we learn! Nancy Barajas, Ms. Sherra's classroom assistant, will teach this class. 
 
OR
Grades: P3 - Kindergarten 
Description: In this class, we will explore music of varying styles, genres, and cultures. Activities are designed to encourage multisensory learning, which employs and integrates several senses at once, stimulating multiple areas of the brain. Children will interact with other peers and engage in movement, rhythm, and vocal activities that develop far more than just music skills, all while having loads of fun along the way. Toddler II Lead Teacher Jeni Johnson will teach this class.

Grade: P3 - Kindergarten
Description: Through mixing and measuring, children will learn fine motor skills. Cooking in class will provide opportunities for children to talk and share with others, helping establish relationships and healthy child development. Felicia Tapia, Ms. Sherra's classroom assistant, will teach this class.
 
OR
Grade: P3 - Kindergarten
Description: Students will create fun snacks and basic meals together. We will use a variety of ingredients, including flour, eggs, dairy, fruits, and nut butters. Primary Lead teacher Karen Wentworth will teach this class.
 
OR
Grade: P3 - Kindergarten
Description: This class will be designed to spark young children's curiosity and love for science, catering to children aged 3-6. Through hands-on experiments, little scientists will explore the natural world in a fun and educational way. Primary Lead Teacher Destiny Benjamin will teach this class. 
*Please expect that students will get messy with some experiments. 
 
Grade: P3 - Kindergarten
Description: Experience the joy of basketball through fun and interactive activities. In a supportive and encouraging environment, children will learn the basics of passing, dribbling, shooting, and teamwork. Primary Lead Teacher Destiny Benjamin will teach this class.
 
Grade: P3 - Kindergarten
Description: In this class, children will learn the basics of ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and creative movement. We will have fun dancing with props like scarves, pom poms, and wands. We will be listening to fun, age-appropriate music, all while learning dance moves. There will be an open house in the winter and spring to showcase what they’ve learned. This class will be taught by Kristen Wright, Principal of Six Step Dance Company

Description: Students will engage in physical training exercises promoting coordination, strength, flexibility, and control. In addition to these, students will learn life skills such as respect, confidence, focus, and self-discipline. This class is taught by highly trained and experienced instructors from JSK TAEKWONDO.

Description: For students, we bring an engaging and entertaining approach to tennis; we spark their imagination with Buddy as our mascot and the main character in our books. Our multicolored wristbands are similar to the martial arts colored belts where our athletes feel achievement as they progress and learn. Buddy's Tennis Class is a confidence builder. It's instilling a feeling of belonging to a club. Students enrolled will receive a buddy-the-ball tennis ball with a carrying pouch, coloring books, color bands, and a shirt after their first test. Coach ChaValier from Buddy the Ball will be the instructor. 
 
Pick-up Procedures:
 
Circle: After enrichments at 3:00 p.m., all-day contracts will be released into the Circle staff’s care during playground time. When you come to pick up, please park and walk up to the red awning at the gate to ask for your child.
 
Non-circle: After enrichments at 3:00 p.m., non-circle students will be walked to the carline to wait at the classroom benches with their Enrichment teacher. There is a waiting grace period after the last car at the end of the line, after which your child will be walked into the office to call home.

Grades: 1- 3
Description: Students will work in groups of 2 to create the challenge of the day. Through cooperation, collaboration, and communication. They will construct the challenge using Lego, Brain Flakes, or Magnetix. After the building is complete, each group will share their masterpiece with the class before they destroy it for their next session. Elementary I Lead Teacher Lisa Moore will teach this class. 
 
Grades: 1 - 3

Description: Students will engage in physical training exercises promoting coordination, strength, flexibility, and control. In addition to these, students will learn life skills such as respect, confidence, focus, and self-discipline. This class is taught by highly trained and experienced instructors from JSK TAEKWONDO.

Description: Calling all Artists! Calling all creatives!  Art exploration is an opportunity to explore a variety of visual art techniques. Every month, students will do a deep dive into one medium so they can experiment and play with the process. Printmaking, painting, collage, and textile arts are just a few examples of the media we will practice. The class encourages creativity and personal expression while also teaching the fundamentals of each art form. This class will be taught by Emily Schnieder, Elementary Specials Teacher.   
 
Grades: 1- 3
Description: This class combines singing, dancing, and rhythmic play to stimulate the body and mind. Through a mix of familiar tunes and new melodies, children will have the opportunity to clap, stomp, sway, and jump to the beat, all while learning the basics of rhythm, melody, and coordination. The class encourages creativity, social interaction, and self-expression in a supportive environment. Some songs will incorporate ribbon, scarves, and tumbling at a safe and age-appropriate level. Elementary I Assistant Teacher Arianna Sandoval will teach this class.  
 
Grades: 1- 3
Description: Service Club offers 1st through 6th grade students the chance to engage in meaningful community service activities. Through hands-on projects, the goal is to inspire young minds to make a difference in their local community while learning the importance of giving back and helping others. Elementary Campus Librarian Kaila Durocher will teach this class.

Description: Immerse yourself in the language and cultural diversity with games, arts, crafts, and cuisine. Students will learn the Spanish language as well as ancient civilization and present the customs they learned through puppet theater. Elementary 504/SpEd Assistant Carmen Tellez will teach this class. 
 
Grades: 1-6

Description: Students will create different forms of art using multiple mediums and techniques. Elementary Campus Librarian Kaila Durocher will teach this class.
 
Grade: 1- 3
Description: In this class, students will learn jazz, hip-hop, and breakdancing moves. We will listen to fun, age-appropriate music, all while learning dance moves. There will be an open house in the winter and spring to showcase what they’ve learned. This class will be taught by Kristen Wright, Principal of Six Step Dance Company.
 
Grade: 1- 3
Description: Children will learn and grow in a fun and creative environment. As time permits, students will make a variety of handmade decorative objects, including cross-stitch, embroidery, sewing, and more. Elementary II Assistant Teacher Shawn Quinley will teach this class.
 
Grades: 1- 3
Description: To teach morals, ethics, and values through sports, we will engage in new games and popular P.E. favorites. Students will have an opportunity to play with students from other classes, encouraging sportsmanship. Coach EJ will teach this class.
 
*Important Information pertaining to Sports of all sorts. Please read the following below. There will be a total of 4 sessions, each session having its own registration link available at the time the class will open. Right now, we are only taking registrations for Session 1: September 4 – September 25, 2024. Registration for future sessions will be forthcoming. Session 1 will include 4 weeks of play, with a one-time charge of non-Circle $62, Circle $52. NON-REFUNDABLE.

Art Exploration (Mondays)*
Grades: 1- 6
*This class will be a combined class
Description: Calling all Artists! Calling all creatives!  Art exploration is an opportunity to explore a variety of visual art techniques. *ON HOLD! Running Club (Thursdays)
Grades: 4 - 6 
Description: Running Club is an enrichment for kids who love to move their bodies. Running activities take place at Los Olivo’s Park and are centered on the 5 core athletic skills: endurance, strength, coordination (and flexibility), speed, and agility. Through these games, students grow in confidence, strengthen their minds and inner self-talk, and learn how to be respectful and encouraging athletes. Students of all running levels are welcome to join this group of fun and animated athletes! Runners can choose to participate in 5k races in the community. Races depend on availability during the season.  Once it begins, this class will be taught by Elementary II Lead Teacher Kaitlyn Shaw. *This class is currently on hold; registration will be open at a later date if the class becomes available. 
 
Grades: 4 - 6
Description: This class is perfect for students with little to no prior experience with the ukulele. Over the course of the program, students will learn the basics of playing the ukulele, including how to properly hold the instrument, strumming techniques, and basic chords. The class will cover fundamental music theory, including reading chord charts and understanding rhythm. By the end of the course, students will be able to play simple songs and have a solid foundation to continue their musical exploration. The class is interactive and fun, with plenty of opportunities to practice in a supportive group setting. Whether you're looking to learn a new skill, play for personal enjoyment, or eventually perform, this class is the perfect starting point! Instruments will be provided, or students can bring their own ukuleles. All ages are welcome. No prior musical experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and love for music. Elementary II Lead Teacher Paul Raia will teach this class. 
 
Grades: 4 - 6
Description: Children will learn to play the game Stratego. Lessons are designed to develop their understanding of the game.  A mini-intramural tournament will be held at the end of the year to encourage the honing of their strategies and deductive reasoning skills. Veteran players can mentor their younger peers while advancing in rank through the club's level of training. Students will have the opportunity to play different versions of the game, including the original. Middle School Lead Teacher Beto Bravo will teach this class.
 
Grades: 4 - 6
Description: To teach morals, ethics, and values through sports, we will engage in new games and popular P.E. favorites. Students will have an opportunity to play with students from other classes encouraging sportsmanship. Coach EJ will teach this class.

Grades: 7 - 8
Description: Students will explore Japanese art and animation. They will engage in activities such as watching and discussing animated shows and reading and discussing manga characters and plotlines. They will exchange recommendations while learning more about the culture surrounding Anime and Manga. Students will draw their own manga and maybe have an opportunity to cosplay. Middle School Teacher Christin Spencer will teach this class.
 
Grades: 7 - 8
Description: Students will be instructed on how to improve their drawing skills through different techniques and methods of creating artwork. We will explore mediums such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and markers to help express students' thoughts and ideas. Elementary Floater Tiana Ramirez will teach this class. 
 
Grades: 7 - 8
Description: The children will learn communication skills, debate tactics, and the different variations of speeches. We will work on public speaking and the basic levels of speech and debate. Coach EJ will teach this class.
 
Grades: 7 - 8
Description: In the memorable spirit of the Knowledge Masters Open (1983-2013, 2021-), students will participate in a weekly bout of fifty random, multiple-choice questions covering a wide variety of academic subjects. Not an individual competition, teammates must quickly master cooperative skills in order to both quickly and accurately answer each timed question, with successfully fast and correct responses earning the team bonus points. Questions will be reviewed afterward to not only gauge what subjects a team’s strengths are but also discuss what topics where teammates went awry. Middle School Lead Teacher Beto Bravo will teach this class.
 
Grades: 7-8

Description: Come explore fiber arts in all their many forms: silk, cotton, and wool. Spun, twisted, woven, felted, knitted, and knotted. Dyed. painted, blended. Embroidered and embellished. Sewn, stitched, quilted. Fiber arts are some of the oldest arts known to humankind—the sustainable story of civilization. This enrichment will metamorphize based on the student's interests and creativity. Middle School Teacher/Master Gardener Kathreen DeMille will teach this class. 
 
Grades: 7 - 8
