Why?
Peace education in Montessori begins with the child and grows outward. Children learn to understand themselves, care for others, appreciate different perspectives, and recognize their place within a larger community and world. Peace is not simply the absence of conflict. It is something children actively create through how they think, communicate, solve problems, care for their environment, and respond to others. By practicing these skills every day, children learn that their choices can help build more respectful, connected, and compassionate communities.
