As parents, we:
- Believe that my child can learn
- Share my goals for my child with the school
- Talk to the school about my child's strengths and areas that need support
- Share my concerns, uncertainties
- Trust in the school; support the school's efforts
- Question before I criticize
- Be open to change (if needed)
- Show respect and support for my child, the staff, and the school
- Help my child be successful by volunteering at school and/or providing other support to teachers
- To attend school functions and parent-teacher conferences
- To be involved in the amount and content of my child's TV viewing and radio listening
- To supervise my child when he is using the internet, providing adequate controls
- To be aware of what my child is learning, and communicate regularly with school staff and with my child
- To assist with homework, spend time each day with my child - reading, writing, listening or just talking
- To provide adequate rest, food, and medical attention so that my child is ready to learn
- To help my child get to school on time and attend regularly
- To follow policies set forth in the Parent Handbook
- To respect the cultural differences of all students, their families, and the staff
- To respect, love, and encourage my child's growth and ideas
- To help my child to resolve conflicts in a peaceful way
- Provide a quiet place for my child to study at home
- Encourage my child to complete all homework assignments
- Support the school in developing positive behaviors in my child
