Description: Chess Club for Grades 4th-6th (all skill levels welcome): This class is an introductory course in chess for new students and those who are already familiar with the basics of the game of chess - Chess Emporium teaches a fun an exciting introduction to the game of chess with more in-depth training opportunities for returning students. Chess club begins by teaching students how to play the game, then students will learn about chess openings, tactics, and endgames. After a weekly lesson, the students will practice games with their friends in the club. Studies by major corporations and universities have shown that chess can help students improve their math and verbal skills as well as their creative and critical thinking abilities. Chess also provides helpful insights into mathematics, visualization, analysis, and writing skills. Federick Naumann, Ches Emporium, LLC, teaches this class.

Cost: $55 (non-Circle), $45 (Circle)- monthly charge
